Day 1. Meeting time 09 a.m. in Gries. Hike up to the hut Winnesbachseehütte. Hiking time: appr. 3 h.

In the afternoon to the putzenkarscharte , 2902 m. Hiking time: appr. 2 h.

Day 2. Peak Breiter Grieskogel, 3287 m. Hiking time: appr. 4 h.

Day 3. Gaißlehnscharte, 3054 m. Descent to the amberger hut, 2135m.Hiking time: appr. 3 h.

Day 4. Peak Kuhscheibe, 3189 m. Hiking time: appr. 4 h.

Day 5. Peak Hinterer Daunkopf, 3220 m. Descent back to the hut. Hiking time: appr. 4 h.

Day 6. Peak Tonigenkogel, 3013m. Descent to gries. Hiking time: 4h.

Touring week Ortler mountain range

Spectacular Peaks in a fantastic mountain range with high alpine peaks.

Week Agenda

Day 1. Meeting point and time: 1 p.m. in Sulden at the bottom station of the gondola to the Schaubachhütte. Up to the hut Zufallhütte, 2264 m.

Day 2. Peak Cima Marmotta, 3330 m. Hiking time: appr. 5 h.

Day 3. Peak Monte Cevedale, 3769 m. Descent to the hut Pizzinihütte, 2700 m. Hiking time: appr. 7 h.

Day 4. Peak Pzzo Tresero, 3594 m. Descent to the hut Brancahütte, 2487 m. Hiking time: appr. 5 h.

Day 5. Peak Palon dela mare, 3703 m. Descent to the Larcherhut. Hiking time: appr. 5 h.

Day 6. Peak Zufallspitze 3757 m. Descent back to Sulden.

Safety equipment

Prerequisites

Participants are required to be at least intermediate skiers on alpine, telemark or snowboard gear. Participants should be ‘hiking fit’.

Prior backcountry skiing experience needed.

Guides and group size

All our guides are fully certified mountain guides.

There is a maximum of 6 people per guide.

Equipment List

You need to bring:

  • Skis / Snow Board  
  • Climbing skins 'Stick-on type' (skis or split board)
  • Ski Poles
  • Ski/board boots
  • Daypack (large enough for spare clothes, lunch & equipment)
  • Sunglasses and ski goggles
  • Thermos flask and/or water bottle (full!)
  • Sun cream

If you don't have this gear already we can loan it to you:

  • Climbing harness
  • 2 prussik cords
  • Mountaineering or semi-technical ice axe
  • Crampons
  • 4 locking carabiners
  • 1 non-locking carabiner

Clothing List

We suggest bringing light clothing of varying thicknesses that can be 'layered' to achieve comfort and versatility. The most important consideration for clothing is the ability to regulate temperature as you change from periods of activity to periods of rest. We discourage cotton clothing as it causes rapid heat loss when wet.

  • Polypro underwear (top & bottom)
  • Warm pants (pref. insulated or fleece)
  • Warm shirt (not cotton)
  • Fleece Jacket (heavyweight)
  • Insulated jacket or vest
  • Insulated jacket or vest
  • Waterproof jacket with hood (Gore-Tex or nylon)
  • Waterproof pants (Gore-Tex or nylon)
  • Socks (wool outer & polypro liner), several sets
  • Wool or fleece hat
  • Waterproof gloves &/or mitts
  • Neck tube
  • Gaiters, only needed if your ski pants are not elasticized at the ankle
  • Sunhat

Booking Information

Please book as early as practical to avoid disappointment.

With your booking we require a  deposit of 20% of the price. At least 2 weeks before the course gets stardet we need the full payment. Otherwise we can’t guarantee your booking. To avoid unnecessary cancellation penalties we suggest you take a cancellation insurance.
